Description

The spiritual life presents a quest unequaled by any other aspect of human existence. No other project or enterprise, no matter how exciting, can match it.

Spiritual Progress is Father Thomas Williams’ invitation to join him in the marvelous challenge of following Jesus Christ and discovering the riches of the Christian faith – one step at a time, with God’s compassionate empowerment and Father Williams as a helpful guide.

Through the pages of this lively and intriguing book, you’ll begin to:

  • Understand holiness as the true calling of your life

  • See prayer not as a duty but as an opportunity for conversation with the God of the universe

  • Take courage from God’s strength and plunge into the adventures ahead

  • Acknowledge your role in a story larger than your own life

  • Learn to say yes to God through a generosity of spirit, talents, and time

  • Develop the character traits and spiritual disciplines you need to become the Christian you want to be

Father Thomas D. Williams, LC, is a theology professor at the Regina Apostolorum University in Rome and consultant on Vatican affairs for CBS News. From 2004 to 2007 Williams worked as faith and religion analyst for NBC and MSNBC News, and during this time he appeared regularly on The Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Dateline, and MSNBC's Ethical Edge. He has also worked extensively for Sky News in Britain covering Church and ethical issues. For both NBC and Sky News, Williams covered the final illness and death of Pope John Paul II, the 2005 papal conclave, and the election of Pope Benedict XVI.
